Participants of Ultimate Curtin Business Survival Camp gain knowledge and skills for future careers
Posted date:Miri – 28 October 2015 – Participants of the annual Ultimate Curtin Business Survival Camp at Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak) recently gained added knowledge and skills to help them succeed in their future careers, be it in the corporate world or through entrepreneurship.
During the camp, the participants were required to complete a series of activities relating to real-life challenges, making investment decisions based on various scenarios presented. They were encouraged to apply the knowledge acquired in the tasks and at the same time, hone their critical thinking, time management and team-building skills.
Facilitating the activities was Bong Jeen Hao, an alumni of Curtin Sarawak and current Unit Manager of TA Investment Management. Peter Gabriel of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) was one of the guest speakers at the camp.
The camp was organised by Accounting Club Curtin Sarawak (ACCS), a student-run organisation, and supported by ACCA, Crowe Horwath, KPMG, and Curtin Sarawak. Organising chairperson Jonah Ting commented that the event was a great success for his committee members as well as the participants. He said it provided an effective platform for the participants to find out more about registering as ACCA professionals.
